The services cover the chemical waste management consultancy and related services in order to enable them to achieve their corporate objectives and meet their legal compliance responsibilities.
3.0 R&D Programs
R&D is an important part of waste management as new development takes place regularly in the technology evolution in industries. Such new development generates different waste streams that require R&D effort to improve existing ways as well as to find new ways to deal with them. Thus to be effective in waste management services, ECO-IEE practises the continuous development and innovation in waste management.
On 1 September 1997, we were awarded a project grant of up to S$3 million from National Science and Technology Board (NSTB) under the Research Incentive Scheme for Companies (RISC) programme. The programme was completed in October 2002 giving ECO a strong technical foundation and a wealth of knowledge and practical experience in hazardous waste management. As a result of our continuous commitment to R&D works, we were awarded a grant of up to S$1.567 million in January 2003 from Economic Development Board (EDB) under the Innovation Development Scheme (IDS) for the development of Integrated Hazardous Waste Management System and R&D Centre for Heat and Mass Transfer Technology. This scheme spans over a period of 3 years and its aim is to encourage development work and innovation of products, processes and applications in waste management.
With both basic R&D and development application capabilities, ECO is well placed to research and develop new and effective treatment processes for the constantly emerging demand for new waste treatment processes. ECO can conduct such programs either with purely in-house capabilities or jointly with external technical, academic or regulatory agencies. |
